Frequently Asked Questions

Duvets

How do I wash my duvet?

For Natural and Fibre duvets we suggest these following instructions;

Anything larger than a 10.5 tog double should ideally be professionally laundered. Wash in a large capacity washing machine at 60 degrees Celsius, with the lowest possible spin setting, use non-bio washing liquid/powder and never use fabric softeners as this will damage the down and feathers. Tumble dry on a low heat until completely dry. You should never hang out to dry as the filling will not dry fully, may clump and give off an odour.

Which tog rating for which season?

We suggest using a 4.5tog for the warmer summer nights, 10.5tog is popular for use all year round. The 13.5tog is good for the cold of winter!

Pillows

What kind of pillow do I need?

The type of pillow depends on how you sleep, whether predominantly on your front, side or back. Most people are unsure of how they sleep but the most common way to tell is how you wake up in the morning! Generally speaking the following is a good guide…

How do I wash a pillow?

For down and synthetic pillows wash in a large capacity washing machine at 60 degrees Celsius, with the lowest possible spin setting, use non-bio washing liquid/powder and never use fabric softeners as this will damage the down and feathers. Tumble dry on a low heat until completely dry. You should never hang out to dry as the filling will not dry fully, may clump and give off an odour.

For Memory Foam Pillows remove cover and wash at 40 degrees Celsius. Inner pillow is spot clean only, do not wash or tumble dry.

Mattress Toppers

How do I wash my mattress topper?

For a dual layer mattress topper (Duck and Goose) remove the top layer and wash in a large capacity washing machine at 60 degrees Celsius, with the lowest possible spin setting, use non-bio washing liquid/powder and never use fabric softeners as this will damage the down and feathers. Tumble dry on a low heat until completely dry. You should never hang out to dry as the filling will not dry fully, may clump and give off an odour.

For Memory Foam Mattress Toppers, do not wash, just spot clean instead.

Which mattress topper is best for me?

Mattress toppers can rejuvenate an old mattress or help protect a new one so there’s always a good reason to use a mattress topper! Our natural toppers (duck and goose options) offer two levels of luxury. The duck toper is a great addition to any bed giving a warm, soft top to the existing mattress plus the addition of the supportive feather base. The goose topper has a higher down content in the top layer so if you like a really luxurious warm layer beneath you when you sleep this is the one for you. If you suffer with stiffness in the mornings or mild back issues, then the memory foam topper may be what you need as the supportive memory foam helps to align the spine allowing you to rest easy at night and wake up more relaxed in the morning.
